Manuel Viera was the first to participate in ExpoCobre 2026 with the conference \u201cMining and the New World Order,\u201d held on April 28 in the Cobre Auditorium, where he addressed the impact of raw materials and international conflicts on Latin American mining, in a scenario marked by geopolitical changes that directly affect the sector.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, as part of his visit to Peru, he held meetings with the Metaproject Engineering S.A.C. team, including a meeting with executives from Chinalco, strengthening ties and generating new collaboration opportunities for the company in the region.<\/p>\n

In her presentation, Dominique commented that \u201cit is key to make women visible within the supply chain, to show success stories, and to generate role models. Because often there is a lack of role models, especially for girls. We have to show that mining is also a space for them, in all their roles. In the end, we are all part of this chain and we need more talent for the future of the sector.\u201d<\/p>\n
Furthermore, she highlighted that the main barrier today is not technical, but communication. For years, mining kept its distance from communities and failed to build trust. She emphasized the need to educate, be transparent, and bring all stakeholders to the same table. Because without communication, there is simply no future for mining.\u201d<\/p>\n
