Within the framework of the International Congress and Exhibition Mining Peru and Latin America 2025, held in the city of Lima, the CEO of Metaproject Group and President of the Mining Chamber of Chile, Manuel Viera Flores, was interviewed by the specialized media Revista Minart, where he shared a strategic vision on the challenges and opportunities of [...]<\/p>

During the interview, Viera emphasized the urgency of building a more integrated mining industry among countries such as Chile and Peru, driven by technological development, sustainability, and cooperation. \u201cWe must learn a lesson in the sense that we cannot allow ourselves to be vulnerable again. We own the most important raw materials in the world, and therefore, we must have smart public policies to industrialize our resources once and for all,\u201d he stated.<\/p>

The industry leader also addressed the importance of sharing technologies such as artificial intelligence and robotics, which \u2014he pointed out\u2014 must be fully incorporated to reduce costs and minimize impacts. \u201cMining must move forward with real innovation. This congress should not be just a showcase, but a space to generate public policies that support mining development,\u201d he emphasized.<\/p>

  • Regarding the role of the Chilean Mining Chamber, Viera explained that a technical alliance with Peru is currently being promoted to address common challenges such as bureaucratic procedures, environmental assessment processes, and the creation of a National Mining Company. \u201cChile can support Peru in the fight against illegal mining by sharing the experience of public institutions that have enabled the sector\u2019s orderly development,\u201d he stated.<\/li><\/ul>

    Finally, he delivered a direct message to young professionals in the field: \u201cDare to embrace mining. Today, it is a field full of opportunities \u2014 even beyond our planet. Astro-mining will become a reality, and you \u2014with artificial intelligence, robotics, and your creativity\u2014 are going to change the world.\u201d<\/p>
