DOMINIQUE VIERA PEÑAILILLO IS ELECTED NEW AIC DIRECTOR

This June 30, during the Annual Assembly of Members of the AIC, Association of Engineering Consulting Companies of Chile, our Vice President of Operations, Dominique Viera Peñailillo, was elected as the new Director of the organization for the period 2022-2024. With a high attendance and in hybrid mode, the meeting was held, carrying out the annual public account 2021-2022, in which the achievements of the organization were highlighted, despite the global and local difficulties of the last two years.

Dominique, for her part, thanked the partners for their trust, expressing her commitment to the union institution, to which Metaproject has belonged for more than a decade, contributing her experience in financial, contractual and operational matters, in the mining, transportation, petrochemical and infrastructure. It should be noted that Dominique currently holds the positions of Vice President of the Chilean Mining Chamber and Director of APRIMIN, the Association of Large Mining Suppliers, in addition to being a member of the consortium responsible for the Tax Inspection of the expansion of our air terminal. WBA international.

Business engineer, with a master’s degree in finance from the Adolfo Ibañez University, he also has studies in metallurgy at USACH and extensive work experience that includes companies such as Microsoft, IBM, KOTRA and the Finnish mining supply company Larox.

She is an outstanding promoter of the incorporation of more women into masculinized industries such as mining and petrochemicals, participating in associations such as Woman in Mining Chile and RedMad (Red de Mujeres Alta Dirección). She has received national and international awards and distinctions.

In 2008, she obtained fourth place in the World Competition for Business Schools “Management Game” organized by Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) Pitsburg, USA. In 2016 she was awarded by the DIRECON Ministry of RREE of Chile, as “Businesswoman Outstanding”. In August 2018, she received the recognition as “Outstanding Woman in Mining”, in the category of suppliers, a distinction awarded for the first time by the Ministry of Mining. In September 2018, the Russian Federation presented her with the “Best Award Special Price” Award for the mining tire recycling project that she leads, during the WOMEN AND THE ECONOMY FORUM (WEF) APEC Forum 2018, Papua New Guinea. In 2021 she receives the distinction as Business Reference Leader for Equity given by the WEF – Women Economic Forum

In recent years, she has dedicated time to mentoring small businesswomen and giving talks to the new generations of professionals from different Chilean universities related to mining.
